I have an 80's or 90's campy 6 speed rear hub with a suntour freewheel. What type of threading do you think the freewheel has? English or italian?

I need to know this because I am planning on buying a 7 speed freewheel on ebay soon.

English and Italian threads are so close they're interchangable.

English and Italian threads are so close they're interchangable. However, since the thread profile differs, many mechanics recommend strongly against switching back and forth between Italian and English freewheel threads. Your Campag. hub may be stamped "BSC," which would indicate it was manufactured with English threading.

Because your present freewheel is definitely English-threaded (I have never seen a French or Italian threaded Japanese freewheel), I do not see a problem with swapping in a 7-speed freewheel, unless it is an Italian-threaded Regina (unlikely).
