Ive been looking into a 29er hardtail and i have figured out 4 different models.
Cannondale Trail SL 29er 4 1000
Spec. Rockhopper SL Comp 29 1300
Giant XTC 29er 2 1300
Kona Kahuna 1000

They seem to have similar components, but i am just trying to figure out what the best buy would be overall. I would be willing to spend more on one of them if the frame/fork/wheels were really that mush better.
Any help in deciding would be appreciated.

have the Niner Sir 9. It has an eccentric bottom bracket so it can be set up single speed, IGH or derailleur. And the Reynolds 853 steel makes for a sweet ride!

I was recently in a similar situation, and i bought the Giant XTC 29er 2. I really like it.

XTC 29er 2! I test rode one and it was awesome. I ended up getting a Talon 29er 2 due to budget constraints and it is my first mtb in a couple decades. If I love it (like I think I will) then I will upgrade later.
