We are going to SLO to help move my daughter's stuff out of her house.
Hoping to do a ride on Monday.
Found some routes on Bikely.
One that looked interesting was Pozo / Park Hill loop but I think the weather will be too hot to do that one. I am hoping we can get our daughter to sag and ride from SLO to Solvang via Edna Valley, Harris Grade, Santa Rosa Rd. All great roads we have done before but not as one ride. Let me know if there are any other options.
I know Homebya knows this area but I think he is doing RAAM.
Actually went for a ride this morning close to the start of team RAAM (Oceanside) and saw lots of support vehicles on the road. We were doing a ride that was not on the route so did not see any riders.

My preferred route from Santa Maria to Solvang is Foxen Canyon Road. It starts off of Betteravia Road East of Hwy 101 corridor from downtown SM. Goes through little almost ghost towns like Garey and Sisquoc. Low traffic on weekdays more on weekends heading to various wineries along the way. Two lane narrow decent blacktop, often a N-S tailwind some climbing but nothing steep or very long. Good scenery that varies in and out of the creek canyons.

Foxen ends at Los Olivos. A nice ride from there is a right turn for 1/4 mile then left on Ballard Canyon which has a brief climb and them mostly all downhill to Solvang.
