I've got 60mm race wheels that came with valve extenders. After installing the extenders on the valves, I find the whole "band-aid" approach invites failure during a race (Applying krazy glue to keep the nut locked, jangling valve shaft, potential for air loss even with silicone tape on the threads, etc).
Do people generally prefer using 80mm valves out of the box over valve extenders?
And, are there any tips to absolutely ensure the extenders will perform as well as an OEM valve assembly? Again, just the sight of the unthreaded shaft bouncing around is unsettling.
Thanks.
