Hi

Are Shimano Hollowtech I and II cranks interchangeable?

I'm looking specifically at XTR down to Deore.

Hollowtech I used Octalink cartridge-type bottom brackets with a hollow splined spindle built into the cartridge, V-1 for road cranks and XTR and V-2 for most other MTB cranks and Tiagra and Sora cranks.

Hollowtech II uses external cup bottom brackets with the spindle as part of the crank arms. They are not at all interchangable.
