Hey guys! Not going to get into depth on this week plus a day tour... but thought I'd share a link to the photo's for those interested.

The trip left from Whidbey Island... First night in New Halem. Second night was in Early Winters and third night Alta Lake near Pateros. From that point I continued on up to Tumwater campground about 9 miles above Leavenworth. The following day I proceeded to ride to Monroe and take the back way towards Granite Falls and then up to Darrington. I camped about 9 miles short of Darrington... and then headed over to Rockport the next day. I ended up riding into Concrete and took the back way up to Baker Lake... Camped at the lower dam and enjoyed a nice ride back to the Island the next day.

So... 550 miles and a few passes. Weather was anything from cold and rainy to sunny and warm.

Lots of snow still on the passes... Shown in the pictures.

That's the old hwy heading West just below Stevens Pass. They built a new interpretive center at the turn onto the old hwy(that's the start of it). It's one of my favorite 3 mile sections of road anywhere. All downhill one car wide and not a straight section to be found........... like skiing down a mountain. :)

A. You suck. Translation: I am extremely jealous, especially since I have done AC's NT Route from Seattle to Glacier twice.

B. Always looking for a good loop tour out west that has relatively easy access to transportation from the east. Any chance you could post/provide the precise route details?

C. Did you stay at Howard Miller Steelhead Park in Rockport? If so, is that dive bar still there?

Did not stay at Howard Miller but did stop to use the shower and take a break. As I passed that dive bar it looked alive and well.

I did use my Garmin Edge 305 for this tour... sad thing is that it can only handle about 4 days of complete data. The only real tricky parts of the route are getting from Monroe over to Rockport. See Here for Garmin Connect route (http://connect.garmin.com/activity/36703851)

nice pics! The pateros area looks nice and green still, looks like you picked a nice time of year to ride it despite the high snow.

If you didn't, the back road from lake wenatchee to the nordic center over nason ridge is truly a great cascades dirt route.
