I have yet to participate in it, the most limiting factor being time to train, but it's rather unique in that it has no swimming leg of the triple events... since there's not really anywhere to swim around by where I live (conveniently near the LM Tri), they've replaced it with canoeing! I hear it really is a equalizer, because people can get good at swimming, but not so much with canoeing!
Other than that, it's more of a sprint triathlon with an 18 mile bike ride, but I hear the 6 mile running portion is tough, because most of it is up hills, including a very steep mound.
