Road Cycling - Centaur Century Grey?

Hi all,

Are there any durability issues that i should be aware of for the new grey finish on Centaur gruppo? My other option is the classic silver but on a 3ring setup. All i am asking is if that grey is paint and will go away or just aesthetics.

I have a new Centaur gray, and as pretty as it is, I will not do it again. It scratches very easy. The gray is basically a clear (well, gray transparent) coating on the components..
My chain came off a couple of time to the outside of the right crank, and now it is scratched, and the scratches show.. If I would have known this I may have gone with the silver..

That said, it really looks nice on my bike :D

I had my chain come off the outside once, and that was coz i hit a pothole at 35mph and just about everything came off ... computer ... water bottle ... helmet ... rider ... wait, that stayed on ... anyway

After I wiped off the dirt off the crankarm there were very slight marks on the paint, but otherwise still looks new. I think it's all about how you set it up. If you don't have the limits set right on your FD or your q-factor on your pedals/cleats, then you're gonna wear out the finish.

Kinda like the new XTR.

I've had mine for about 3 weeks, 500 miles (still new, I guess), and the way I ride is my shoes don't come in contact with the crank arms.

Other than that it looks very nice. My bike is yellow, so silver components wouldn't have looked as nice.

It's all about your setup. If you got it wrong, then you'll wear out anything.
