Accessory List - qaulity, low-mid tier price range (good bang for buck), not high-end:

Wireless Computer
Headlight/Taillight
Mounting Tire Pump
Back Rack
Water Bottle Cage
Mirror
U-Lock
Other suggestions??

**Already have seat wedge & tools.

I like the Specialized water bottle cages, the plastic ones - bottles never jump out of them.
Cateye Strada computer w/cadence - watch Performance for sales
I use a flashlight from Lowes - Task Force, for a headlight with a home made mount.
Taillight - Planet Bike Superflash
I also use a front blinker for daytime use on the road - a Flare 5 from Performance
Just about any rear rack will suffice
Get a U lock and also a cable, so you can lock everything together.
Tire pump - Topeak Road Morph G - the best there is at a reasonable price.
Mountain Myracle mirror - accept no substitute.

Almost all of this stuff can be bought cheaply at Performance, by watching sales, or taking other adds in for comparison pricing.

I use a Topeak Explorer rack on my 7.3, and have been very happy with it.

+1 on the other post recommending the Cateye computer, PB Superflash, and Specialized cages.

For the headlight, did you want something to see with, or just for visibility? I have a Knog Frog for visibiity purposes as the sun goes down, and it seems to do the job nicely. But I wouldn't be able to ride with that as my only light.

Pump: Lyzene Road Drive

Wasn't on your list, but I replaced the stock grips on my 7.3 with Ergon GR-2's, and love them. Did a century with them, and really appreciated the comfort of the grip, and the additional hand position with the integrated bar end.

Also not on your list: Pedals. I've got Speedplay light action pedals on my 7.3 and my road bike, very easy to clip in/out, nice amount of float to find a comfortable position....and they come in colors to match your bike. :)

The bad part of integrated bar ends w/grips, is that they do not allow you to use anything else on/in your bars. better to get the GP-1, and add your own bar ends, and/or mirror.

MHO - and the Mountain Morph will be MUCH cheaper than the Lyzene, and do everything well. And, it's easier to use.

If you want a wireless computer, go with the new digital signal ones. They cost more, but will be more reliable. I personally use wired computers, I just don't need to spend that much on a computer...

Cages: I like Specialized's E-cages. I have two (blue) ones on my Sirrus, and a goldish titanium color on my mountain bike. They hold waterbottles fine. The plastic ones are alright as well, I had them on my road bike, they were easier to get a bottle back into.

The mountain mirrycle is a good recommendation, I don't have one but they look well built.

the rest I dont really have experience with.

I like what you did with the mirror:thumb:

And, if you decide to add bar ends, or mini drops, you just add the other included piece of the Mirrycle Mirror, to move it out a tad. The other included piece, also give you a bit more adjustability, as it gives you more angles of adjustment. Then the first piece out of the bar end, goes forward, almost level.

Nice job, Kungpao!

Used this for bike riding at night, for at least 2 years now, no problems . Batteries seem to last forever...

hello. first of all i really liked your accessory list :) i think DiNotte 140L amber head light is a daytime headlight. what'd be the suitable choice for both daily and night use. what about these set:

200 Lumen AA Bicycle Headlight

http://store.dinottelighting.com/shared/StoreFront/default.asp?CS=dinotte&StoreType=BtoC&Count1=710476100&Count2=627616524&ProductID=2&Target=products.asp

AA powered taillight (seatpost mount) 2009 model 140R-AA-R

http://store.dinottelighting.com/shared/StoreFront/default.asp?CS=dinotte&StoreType=BtoC&Count1=169582545&Count2=86722970&ProductID=5&Target=products.asp

and how many battery does each light use? buying only one battery pack (i think 4 batteries and a charger) will be enough?

and i recognised that it is quite expensive. do you think does it worth the price? thanks..

Yes, the 140R-AA-R is the taillight and the front one is a amber day time running light, since i don't ride at all after dark.

Thanks for all the feedback!

Status update: Received new Trek 7.3 FX as Father's Day gift (replaces recently stolen 7.3 FX I had for 3 years)...I'm one extremely Happy Dad to have wheels again!

Accessories:

1) Computer - Trek Incite 6i (removed from bike prior to theft, only lost bracket & wire, LBS replaced hardware @ no charge to avoid total replacement)
2) Mountain Mirrycle Mirror
3) Planet Bike Superflash Tail Light and Blaze Headlight (LBS discounted combo set down to $20) - Superflash is great - really bright, Blaze Headlight good on brightness, but beam is narrow and focused.
**Would like to re-mount Cat Eye HL-EL220 LED Headlight (lost bracket w/bike, LBS did not have replacement bracket, suggestions??)
4) Incredibell Handlebar Bell
5) Transit Rack & Strap
6) Banjo Brothers Bar Top Bag (Cell, Wallet, Keys)
6) Bontrager Race Lite Bottle Cage
7) Seat Wedge with Spare Tube, Crank Brothers Multi-tool 17, Tire Levers, Presta Valve Adapter, Tire Pressure Dial Gauge, Quick Shot Pro CO2 Inflation System.
8) Shimano Sport MTB Shoes

Ordered Shimano PD-M324 pedals.
Shopping for Hand Pump, and Ulock & Cable (undecided, open to addl feedback).

Try to e-mail Cateye - they may have a replacement program, or parts.

thanks for the feedback. how many battery does each light use? 2 or 4

i plan to buy a light which is suitable for both day and night use. it should also provide visibility in day time, foggy and rainy conditions. buying these two light with batteries about 300$ and with shipping it costs nearly at half of the price of the bicycle  what may be the more affordable but quality alternatives for this kind of use. thanks..

Each light takes 4 rechargeable AA batteries, they are inside the nylon bag on the seat post.
