I am new to this forum. I have been riding vividly for two years, and now I am in the midst of switching from a flat-handbar hybrid to a roadie. I am learning the rope.

Hi Ron,

Thank you for your reply.

My price point was CDN$1500ish. I was considering Trek 2.1, Giant Defy 1, Cannondale CAAD 6 5, MEC Col and Speciailzed Allez Elite.

I settled with Trek 2.1. MEC Col does come with the best component group. With 7000 series aluminum frame and 105 around (Utegra RD as a bonus) it's a value for $1400. I have reservation about MEC selling bikes and concern about the harsher ride, I went with Trek 2.1 compact. Still in the process of getting used to the cleats, but so far so good
