Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Woke up this morning with our upstairs neighbor wacking on the door yelling, "Hey, you better move your Volvo, the water is almost up to the doors!!"
After finally finding a spot above sea level I took these snaps...
Haha I rode through something like that this morning. My crank was submerged and the water was up to my hubs. I think I might have to bring my bike in for a tune up soon.

WI had a ton of flooding this spring. My dad rode through a flooded area that went up over his hubs. 2 months later his hubs were squeeking. He took his bike in to be checked over and watched as the guy pulled his wheels off and opened up the hubs. Rusty water fell out of his hubs. The tech had a "wtf?!" look on his face and looked up at my laughing dad. Needless to say his hubs had to get repacked. I would check your hubs out now. They probably are full of water and can do damage if left. As my dad told the tech, "It was fun, I couldn't resist!". The tech laughed and said he probably would have done the same thing.
I had to post this. A little bit different living in Montana as compared to NYC. In Montana we drive through water like that on purpose. Then again, a lifted 4x4 can handle water a little bit different than a sedan. This is my friend's truck. I was just along for the ride.
How crazy. I didn't ride in this morning cause it was pouring rain when I got up, (I DO need to work on getting my butt out to ride in the rain, though. Just a little freaked out about it.) So i took the train, but was a half hour late due to the subway tunnels being flooded.
How nuts.
