Received an email last week from Adventure Cycling that I won their monthly prize drawing! The price this month was a Bob trailer. It arrived last night and I start to assemble it. Unfortunately, that was too late to use it on my next tour. My son & I leave today for Cumberland, Md to begin our GAP ride on Sat. I currently have a 2-wheeled Quick-Pak trailer, which looks to hold far more. Which when you are carrying gear for a 12 YO includes a football, frisbee, electronic items, are all required. However, I'll give the Bob a try on a solo tour this fall instead of panniers. Who knows, perhaps in a few years when I tour with my son he'll actually haul some of the gear using the Bob ;-)

Congratulations. I'm jealous. I wanted that prize.
Enjoy the GAP tour, I did it last fall with ACA and it was a fabulous adventure

Nice, but....this morning I received an email informing me that I have won 5,000,000 British pounds in the U.K. National Lotery. Just mailed out the $10,000 processing fee. My 5 mil. should arrive next week. I am going to buy a gold plated IF touring frame!

Seriously...Congrats. I always dream of winning their bike prize.

Awesome! Congrats. I am sure it will be put to some serious use.

We have been rather dry this year so the two wheeler shouldn't be like last year.

Most excellent, maybe you can paint it olive green and then give it some beautiful leather wraps in order to match the LHT :)

BTW, sorry our paths are likely to just miss since we'll be passing from the Pittsburgh area south thru the GAP starting Wednesday.

I hadn't thought of that, time for a can of Rust-o-leum.

I'm in Cumberland now, just finished dinner at Queen City Creamery, oh so good ice cream. At least the weather will be dry tonight :-)

have fun on your GAP ride, we finish in West Newton on Weds.

Perhaps we'll be able to get together for a fall ride.

I'd be up for the Erie too. But I will have to see if I have any vacation left first. :)

Congrats on the major award! :)

LOL You will have to fight with joel2old. He likes taking my stuff when I break spokes.

All you had to do was ask me to carry your stuff for the whole trip and I would have. But now it is to late. It will be your turn to carry all of my stuff if I can make the trip.

Let me know if this trip can work. I think I may be riding the Skyline Drive and the Blue
Ridge Parkway in Sept. but don't yet know for sure.

You mean you break them often? :-)
