Howdy... so I'm messing with this new project bike and I've got most of the parts stripped and am looking at the bottom bracket options... what was on there was a threadless cup system that used cottered cranks... as I said, the inside is threadless with an inside diameter of just about 40 to 40.5mm ... does this diameter sound like the American Style/BMX/One-piece/Ashtabula dimensions? I'd like to just throw in some conversion cups to use the a Euro BB ... but the shell almost seems a little smaller than a normal BMX and I've been unable to find diameter/dimmension specs online - anyone know off hand the inside diameter of an American style/BMX/One-piece-crank bottom bracket shell? Thanks!...

I picked it up from some guy from craigslist... it is indeed an oddity... Sheldone Brown suggested it might be a "Thompson" Bottom Bracket (which yielded an amazing 3 hits on google) and to not even really bother... its made by Tomos and its called the Tomos Mini... and its essentially nothing right now... oh well, such as things go sometimes... I'm going to keep my eyes open for another old school folder... Royce Union or Raleigh or Peugeot ...
