I have a 72' px10 that came with non stock garbage condition wheels & hubs. I know the rear spacing is 120mm but I'm wondering if a 126mm rear hub is going to be doable...I've got a near mint condition wheelset on the way; mavic 700c's w/campagnolo pristine condition hubs(126mm rear spacing) and I dont want too spend money rebuilding the rear wheel with a 120mm hub if I don't have to. Thanks for the help.

The consensus seems to be that going from 120 to 126 is OK. Sheldon Brown did a whole article on dropout spacing, and how to alter it: http://sheldonbrown.com/frame-spacing.html (FWIW, I've used 126 hubs in 120 frames w/o changing the frame spacing and it worked, tho' fixing flats could be a pain)

Ok great, thanks for the link and example. The rear dropouts have some good flex so I don't think i'll be doing any real damage.

I'd cold set the frame. Spreading the rear traingle every time you mount a rear wheel is hard on the fingers and thumbs and makes it look like the bike was built by an unskilled mechanic.

My Peugeots remain spaced at 120, but my Gitane is set at 126 for a mavic 501 hub.
