So I unexpectedly have a 9 day break from work the week after July 4th, my gf is too broke to go on vacation anywhere, I'm picking up a used, but in extremely good condition volpe tomorrow, and I've got to get the hell out of NYC for a bit or I'm gonna lose it. I spent last summer working in Grand Teton National Park, and am dying to make it to a nat'l park or nat'l forest, so I thought I'd head up to VT. round trip to bennington would be about 44 miles a day, which doesn't sound too bad to me, considering i used to commute almost that much when i lived in missouri. anyone know a good bike route? dare i trust the google maps bike feature? I don't drive, so I don't know the roads or routes at all. any help appreciated.
