I purchased a bike at a flea market for $2. Wondering if anyone knows when it may have been manufactured.
It is blue/white. Big seat. Narrow, low handlebars. Older type, no gears, put on brakes by pedaling backwards (I guess that is explained right)
It has on the front: AMF Roadmaster and on the side it says Skyrider. Looks like all parts are original, except a back bar seems to be missing, the place where it bolts is still there. This is not a skyrider deluxe. It is simply Roadmaster Skyrider, women's 26inch.
I have seen some say 1958 and others 1960. Would love to know. It rides great and I want to restore it. Need to know where to buy vintage bike parts and tips on how to clean and repaint at least the chrome. I sort of like it looking old, but would like to take care of the small rust spots.
