Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I wasnt aware that they had a line of bicycles that included three folding bikes. I checkeed on prices and the SS and 3 speed are in the $300-360 range. http://www.origin-8.com/products.php?cl1=BICYCLES
Many manufacturers recognsed the growing folder niche and so are buying OEM bikes and rebranding them. These look like a case in point.

The F7 Speed was the first folder I had seen at a LBS here in Houston last Aug and the test rides impressed me enough that I was really tempted to buy it but the $400 price seemed high. But I became enamored with the DT Mini and bought one (08 floor model) instead. Now 10 months later I have 5 folders and occasionally I think about the F7 and wonder if it's new owner gets as much enjoyment riding it as I do with my Mini, Ciao, Speed TR and E3s.
BTW, the F7 was sold after sitting in the LBS for 7-8 months. We don't have a lot of folder fanatics here in H-town. Strangely, though I've recently seen two vintage Dahons (E5 and Stowaway) advertised on Houston.Craigslist. The Stowaway is available for $150; the E5 sold really fast for $80 and it looked to be in good condition.

The 3 speed with coaster brake is what interested me. I have a new 3 speed hub with rim and I am waiting to get a Boardwalk from a family memeber. Thor is sold out of the garage sale Boardwalks.

this is the cheapest I could find the F1 http://www.biking.com/buy-bike-accessories/f1-select.html

Are these rebranded Dahons?
performance also sells rebranded dahon bikes
downtube, I think, use licensed parts from dahon and are similar in design. I think it said that somewhere on the downtube website
those origin8 folders are rebranded dahons.
It should be easy to tell from the design of the frame, position of the frame hinge, seat post diameter and the telescoping handlebars.
