You can do 150 on darn near any bike, I did it on a roadmaster.

Niice. Just wondering; I didn't really know how many people went out there with purpose made road bikes.

Sure, but what is the "MS150"? For Europeans like me it's a mystery.

Multiple sclerosis 150.

It is a charity ride to raise money for the disease. 75 miles one day and 75 the next. You have to raise $200 to be in it. More is better of course.

Aha, Thanks. I did not make the connection with multiple sclerosis.

But why is everybody talking about purpose made road bikes and cyclocross bikes for the MS150? Does the terrain ask for such specialized material? Is it partly off-road or something?

It's just that 150 miles is alot easier to cover on a road bike. Lots of people of all ages do it on every type of bike imagineable.

I would think the difference between doing it on a road bike versus a cyclocross bike would be almost negligable. Probably more advantagous considering the roads blow down here in texas.
