Hi all,
My trek 7600 (circa 1994) was recently stolen. I haven't found any for sale in the area, I'm not counting on seeing it again, so I'm in the market for a new bike. I'm looking for something as close as possible. The new trek 7000 series seem more like comfort bikes, with the suspension and more upright position. The trek FX line seems more like a road bike. I went for a test ride on each, and neither are very close to my old trek 7600.

I have also tried a jamis coda, and like the feel of the bike, but the pedals are too close to the ground. When taking a sharp corners I scraped the ground and I never had this issue on my trek.

Can anyone recommend a good bike? something like the old hybrids?

So, having done some more research i can be more specific about what i'm looking for. the old trek 7000 series are not at all like the new ones. It seems like they were more like cyclocross bikes with flat handlebars.

So, I guess the question is, are there any cyclocross bikes with flat handlebars and multiple gears? I've found some flat bar masi bikes, but they're all fixed gear.

Thanks for any input.

I am selling my 1996 trek 7600 for $200. You can see it on craigslist if you are interested.
