Here is my new ride

Shimano 105 components with a 50/39/30 up front and a 10 speed 12/27 rear.
Mavic wheels. Continental gator skins 28 tires.
Brooks seat. VO front rack. VO fenders.
Salsa short and shallow bars. VO leather bar tape. Sigma wired computer.
Acorn Rando Bag. Acorn Large saddle bag. Kinesis frame bag.

Only two short rides so far, but I like the ride. Very fast and holds the steering line very well

Very smart looking bike. I'm actually going to consider one, though the lack of a pump peg seems odd. I'm not too crazy about that color though.

As a framebuilder, I could never figure out a generic place to put a pump peg. You have to know what pump is going with the bike. Also trying to figure out the spoke holder thing, my bike takes 3 different sized spokes that are significantly different sizes.

Very nice. Now if I could only decide on a frame size (55 vs. 57) and figure out a way to get it without the better half noticing, at least not for awhile...

Nice build, it should support your long rides well.

I like the color and the 105 triple is a great drivetrain for LD rides, IMO. Enjoy!

Which E3 are you considering (symmetrical, or asymmetrical)? I've tried both, and they pale in comparison to the SON Edelux.

hmm, gotta disagree with this. I really prefer my symmetrical E3 to my edelux for anything outside a "bright" city environment. The edelux does throw more light down on the ground, but in real blackness, the supernova lights up the night better IMO

I modified my E3 triple (see below) to keep it from blinding oncoming traffic and to put more light down on the road. The light shield is mounted using two screws (I had to drill and tap the holes). Works great both in the city and on the 40 mph unlit decent on my commute. I'm very pleased. I suppose maybe it isn't street legal in Germany.

I had the material leftover from some gutter work on the house. It is called flashing, but I think it is just aluminum. If I didn't have this material lying around I was going to use an aluminum beverage can. I've actually trimmed some off the shield on the shoulder side since I took this picture. The shield can be easily removed for mountain biking. The E3 triple kicks out a lot of light when all three LED's are engaged (> 9 mph).
