Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - hi, i'm new to road bikes and just bikes in general
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

i'm moving to austin. tx soon and would like a nice road bike to get around the city
i am currently looking at this bike:
does this seem like a good deal? i hear that the ironman series is very reputable.
You've heard right. Ironman Expert series bikes are very well-built, and have retained a good deal of their value.
If it fits, it's a great bike. $260 is on the higher end of what I'd pay for it, but it's most definitely a nice bike.

I'd go for it. Hopefully, you've got about 10% negotiating room on the bike. Yeah, you might find something cheaper, but you're not going to find too much that is nicer in that price range for a first bike. Get a BIG lock and chain if you buy it - that's definitely very desirable theft bait.
Just make sure it fits you properly.

looks like a nice bike at a good price, particularly assuming the price is higher than what they would settle for. Hopefully it fits you better than it fit whoever set that saddle height.
I moved your thread to the appropriate forum.
