Northern California - NorCal East, Sunday 6/27

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
This will be a fast ride. Riding with the Folsom Bikes club/team. It's not a no drop ride. Likely to average 17+. Possible route is the Cothrin Ranch loop http://ridewithgps.com/routes/103854
Note: route is subject to dramatic changes.
~51 miles and 5200 feet.
Leaving Folsom Bikes at 7:30am. Or, I'm leaving my house in Rancho at 6:15 for a leisurely ride up to the shop. This will be more like 83 miles.

Since Saturday is a no ride day this week, I might be able to sneak out on Sunday to do this. Hard to ride on Sunday's since it sets a bad example for the kids when Dad ditches church...

My bro and I have been cycling the Folsom area lately, would love to do this ride but I am busy all weekend. I'll let my brother know about this ride. He averages 17-17.5mph averages on 50milers, hmmm since it is a no-drop I assume there will be regroup points?

There may not be regroup points. This will be a fast ride, and the climbing won't be slow. I expect to get dropped about 2/3 the way through.
Some of the guys have been talkinig about doubling the miles and the climbing as DR training. So we may do a dramatically different route.
Keep in mind you'll be riding with Cat 3 and 4, along with some good Masters racers. Just want to make sure you don't get in over your head.
