Hybrid Bicycles - Raleigh misceo 2.0

Has anyone tried the RALEIGH MISCEO 2.0 or 1.0?

i have the Raleigh Misceo 1.0, it is a great bike, with it's suspension and good gearing.

Is the frame the same between the 1.0 and 2.0 ? Looks like a good solid rig.

the frames of the two are slightly different in shape angle , the 1.0 is more angled for comfort position and the 2.0 is more
towards speed, because of the seating position. this is from what i can see.

I rode a Raleigh for over ten years---I, too, bought it from Century Cycles. I just bought the Giant Rapid from the Rocky River store---The service and the sales people are excellent, and they will not steer you wrong---take it for a spin. My Raleigh was a great bike---the only reason I sold it was that I wanted something a little lighter and faster.

I was at the Century store in Medina this morning. I saw the new for 2011 Misceo 0.0 It comes standard with disc brakes and for just fitness riding it looks perfect. Personally, I was surprised at how light it was without the suspension fork. It's very purposeful looking with the matte black finish.

The matte black one is just Misceo (http://www.raleighusa.com/bikes/hybrid/misceo-11/) and the Misceo 0.0 is a differnt bike. I saw a Misceo on the street and asked the guy what it was. Cool bike. Nice price.

You don't need a suspension fork and the extra weight makes it a negative unless you ride rough trails. Get the plain old Misceo, no numbers! His was completely devoid of logos and he claims it comes that way. Cool bike! :thumb: Your dealer or I may have the model designations wrong. Make sure you aren't paying for a Misceo 0.0 if you buy the Misceo, assuming the 0.0 has a higher list price. Guy on the street mentioned he paid 5 something, don't remember exactly.

You're correct, it was devoid of any logos. VERY cool looking bike. Not what I'd call trail worthy though. It looked more like an indestructible tank of a bike. Retail is about $499 The salesman said no deals during the season. They did have some leftover models from last year with the suspension fork. All the cheap fork did IMO is make the bike heavier.

I was looking at the bike for my son who just rediscovered cycling. I figured this was a good way to get back into it.

How old is he? A youngster might prefer a dirt bike. He can ride trails with that bike. While suspension is desirable for rough terrain, mountain biking was a very well established sport for many years before suspension forks were available. But he might want something sportier ie. more like a mountain bike.

If he's a little older, he might appreciate the stealthy looks and no-nonsense functionality of the Misceo. $499 sound like a deal to me, based on what I saw of the bike. I agree that suspension on a hybrid is not worth the weight unless the hybrid is used on rough trails. Considerably rougher than unpaved rail trails for example.

Of course you might let him decide which one he likes. :)
