Actually I only have one. On my new crankset, and only in the big ring or little ring, the chain doesn't seem to fit right. After a few strokes, it(the chain) doesn't seat on the ring right, and gets thrown off. Or, it seats at the last second but then won't come off down at the bottom, so it really messes everything up. Is this a sign that I need a new chain?

sounds like it to me, although it could be many other things as well. make sure your front derailleur is aligned correctly. check your chain to see if there is any bends in it. etc etc. narrow the problem down by figuring out what is right ;)

someone else had a problem like this but it was with the rear cassette, turned out to be the chain as well. :D

this link might help determine if the chain is bad or not...

good luck

I would definately check the chain. And do it before you ride too much or you'll wear your new rings.

I'm curious fubar, you've been asking a lot about new parts... we will get to see this beauty that you're creating (or rebuilding) anytime soon? ;)

Maybe...:D I got a new SRAM chain today. Everything works good now, but while I was putting the new chain on I noticed my small(22 tooth) chainring is super bent. I called up Pricepoint and they are going to send me a new ring. It's a good thing it is the small ring that is bent, because I don't use it, and the middle and large rings are riveted. Why would they rivet the big rings but not the small?? I don't get it....Well, besides for job security. Oh well, this crankset will get me through until I can buy another one. My old one was crap, and some of the rings were missing teeth.
