After a LONG wait (well, long is relative, but I am not a patient person), my new BMC is home. I need to get it out for a test ride, and I'm still awaiting new PSIMet wheels. Tomorrow will be a fair bit of climbing, so that'll be a good test.

BMC Pro Machine
Chorus
Shimano Pro bars and stem
SpeedPlay Zero Ti pedlas
Specialized Avatar Saddle
Bontrager RaceXLite wheels
Vittoria Open Corsa tires
Bontrager RaceXLight bottle cages
Deda tape

I think that's it. I overshot budget by about $75 once taxes and shipping for the new wheels are figured in. Not too bad considering that was the only out of pocket. The rest was an insurance settlement from the collision I had about 5 weeks ago.

Wow Joel!!! Awesome!!! :thumb::thumb::thumb: Love them BMCs I do!

I have my eye on a Cross Machine frame/fork right now on eBay... Hmmm!

We need to have a "New Ride" Ride. Although my piddly Synapse pales in comparison to yours. (BMC envy) :p

Dayum - that's a very nice looking bike Joel. Really like the colour scheme - very tidy build.

Took it out for a short shakedown ride today. Even got to ride with my bride (kids played with the neighbor kids next door). The saddle had to come down a bit, and needed to go a bit nose up. After that...

The first thing I noticed was the responsiveness of the back end. When you press down on the pedals, it practically jumped out from under me! Much stiffer back end than my PedalForce (or Colnago for that matter). There is some chipseal on part of the route today, and the frame just soaked it up, but there was still a good bit of road feel. Similar road feel to my steel bikes, but a lot more vibration dampening. And since it's a size larger than my PedalForce, there isn't much saddle to bar drop. That'll take a bit of getting used to. As I get more comfy, I will probably pull one of the spacers from under the stem.

All in all, I LOVE the bike. Can't wait for the new wheels to get here!

Nice, but man those white bikes are hard to keep clean.

It can get dirty. I didn't buy the thing to look at.

That was my argument also, but I kept getting flack for it. No one notice how dirty my Cannondale is.

Sweet bike, congrats.
What wheels are you still waiting to receive?

Today's ride was awful. I was sick last night, some sort of stomach thing. Didn't drink near enough water to rehydrate, and then bonked as what I ate for dinner wasn't there any longer. Still managed to get in 54 miles and 4500 feet. But had to call for a SAG. Ah well. The bike was fantastic. Needs a bit of tweaking though.

Sweet bike, congrats.
What wheels are you still waiting to receive?

Ordered some from PSIMet. Alchemy hubs, Kinlin XR270 rims, CXRay spokes.

I may very well sell the wheels that are on the bike now. Currently has a Campy freehub. The back wheel has few miles (warranty replacement after a cracked rim from my accident), the front has around 5-6000 mi.
