Southeast - Visiting TN

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi! We're visiting TN this month - spending at least a week in Pigeon Forge and then hoping to visit Nashville. We're open to traveling all over the state and hope someone here can provide advice for good riding on and off road. 60-80 mile rides are what we like! :-) Thanks in advance!

For Nashville, here is the
Harpeth Bike Club's (West and South Nashville area) ride maps. http://www.harpethbikeclub.com/index.php/rides/cuesheetmap
and the Veloteers' (East Nashville area) http://www.veloteers.org
Also you should check out the Natchez Trace. (http://www.nps.gov/natr/index.htm) it is a scenic parkway free of commercial vehicle and very popular with cyclist/joggers. It goes all the way to Natchez, MS so you can do as much distance as you would want to.

I want to ride 441 from Gatlinburg, NT to Cherokee, NC it's 38 miles each way across the Smokies
Should be a good ride on a week day with fewer cars
