Ok. Mommyonabike, here. I pulled the trigger and purchased a Trek FX 7.2 Kids bike for my daughter. I need a new bike, too. I will use it for riding with my kids around the neighborhood, general fitness and sprint triathlons (I'm just a beginner). I've done a fair amount of research and am heading to test-drive this week. I'm leaning towards Trek, because I've gotta lean towards something, and they are good bikes. What do you think - go for the Trek FX 7.2 WSD (more towards fitness), or the 7100 or 7200 WSD (added comfort). Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

There isn't a huge difference in the two bikes. I am riding a 7300 with upgraded forks which makes it more like an FX. I test rode both and didn't notice too much difference. I went with the 7300 because I was afraid to go "too aggressive," but have found out the more "aggressive" is actually more comfortable. I really like my 7300 and use it for towing the kids and path riding. It gives me a nice ride and nice workout. It really is a bit of a toss up between the two, in my opinion. I think the FX series may better suit your needs, but it you are looking for a little more comfort than the 7000 series will work too. It will all be based on your test ride.

Good luck!
