Opinions? I was just about to buy a decent steel fork to go on a light steel frame for $60 when I saw this a t Nashbar for $150. Less than 500g, Al steer tube. Too good to be true? Too light to be raced? Is there brake chatter in my future? So should I buy steel (at 1000g) or spend a little more for Carbon from Walmart/ImeanNashbar?

i just got a winwood muddy cx for $200, looks exactly the same as the nashbar, or the nashbar could be the kinesis fork that's on some litespeed & fuji bikes, i wouldn't trust the weight listed, but if my winwood was going to break it would've on the pothole i hit last nite, so i'll vote the carbon technology has gotten good enough that the more reasonably priced stuff is probably pretty decent

Watch the rake. The Nashbar has a 40mm rake and I think the Winwood is 46. My bike is 43, so I am stuck in the middle. Not sure which way to jump, either. Prob for the Winwood, they have a pretty good rep around here.

If you are considering the winwood then I would go with stiffster. From what I understand they are one in the same.
