Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey everyone!

My name is Taylor and I've been a fan of bikeforums for some time as I was brought to archived threads when researching for a few years now. I started out riding hard on a midskool Schwinn Predator bmx and got my first roadie while in college, a Motobecane Record:

I got into vintage bikes when I bought an old Takara and fell in love with steel:

From there I reflected my francophile nature with a 78 Motobecane Grand Record equipped with Suntour Cyclone components and I loved it:

Sadly, I fell onto hard times and let all those bikes go. I had a Motobecane Mirage that I flirted with making into a fixed gear:

But then I found this:

and turned it into this:

and it's been love ever since.

Looking forward to contributing to the community!

^it has pedals!

Also I thought I'd take this chance to explain the name I chose for this site. I can appreciate a Trek and be great friends with anyone riding one.. it's not as violent sentiment as it sounds. My name has more to do with my disdain for consumer culture and the negative effect it has on a hobby/sport as sacred as cycling. (I'm a product designer grad from SCAD, with ethical issues with design and marketing) So, my job as a competitive cyclist at Dallas' premier park for cyclists (White Rock Lake!) is to open their eyes to bikes with character and soul by blasting them at high speed on a bike from '88. I have as much fun hunting Pinnarellos, I just might compliment them on their bike or slow for a few minutes to have a chat :P

Also, if you like independent music than check out the site I write for!!! http://www.theblueindian.com plug plug plug
