I have an old laptop here that starts booting up WindowsXP and get's "stuck" in the logo. I say "stuck" because the bar-graph animation below the logo keeps mooving and the HD light keeps flashing. But it never get's past there (and I waited hours).
I check the HD and backed up everything to another computer. I also check the memory, it's fine. As usual, owner doesn't have any WinXP CD or any of the rescue utilities that came with the machine. Owner lost love of the machine 2 months after purchase because laptop was dropped and the screen now doesn't display the color red (but works fine with external monitor).
I think I will just reinstall the OS, if I can find my own instalation CD's that is. Any ideas?
