Shocks is Shocks, new stuff sells. Its a good video, I wonder how the Ballistic Carbon will last with the twists and turns of MTBing. Gotta follow this up next year.

Im with Daspy on the shocks is shocks. As long as the spring rates are correct and it's reliable, who cares what direction the shock is doing it's thingy? As for 2 shocks and external adjustment, that sounds just plain heavier, more complex and unneccesary compared to what the competition has to offer. In my humble opinion, the through axles for lateral stiffness are a heavy route also. If properly designed, manufactured and tested, forgings are more effective ways to capture the pivot points and provide the needed lateral stiffness to keep the bearings in line so they don't see too much off-axis loading. As for the "millitary carbon", disclaimers etc. what are the properties. I'm suspect it may be the same carbon Martek China, Giant, Lood and many others have been using for years with some marketers fluff. As a long distance XC kind of guy who is paranoid of being stuck miles from help, I like things to be effective and as simple as possible.

So you're saying current full suspension designs have reached the limit of innovation? Current VPP designs and the like are the end-all-be-all for mtbs?
Good one.

That has nothing to do with the design of the shock. The shock is just a device to absorb the "shock" or control the movement of the rear.
