My family is going to camp to Virginia sometimes this summer.
I'd like to take my bike and ride some trails there.
Do you know any place close to campsites that also has a bike trial nearby?

Virgina is a big state. What part are you interested in?

For family camping + trails I would suggest the Virginia Creeper (http://www.vacreepertrail.com/ ) in the southwest of the state.
The W&OD is in Northern Virginia but probably not the best place for camping -- too suburban.
If by "trails" you mean on-road routes, then you need to be a bit more specific about what you want. You can camp in Shenandoah National Park and ride Skyline Drive. Camp farther south and ride Blueridge Parkway. There are miles after miles of roads to ride in Shenandoah Valley. East of the mountains there are more rolling hills through farmland. Just west of Virginia Beach you can get routes through the flat farmland there.

Actually, there is a county run public campground at Lake Fairfax, and the connector trail to the W&OD (about a half mile to mile post 16) starts at one of the camping areas (Area C). That means you are just 17 miles from DC, less to a Metro station. Lots of restaurants and stores nearby in Reston and Herndon.

True. I guess since I ride my mountain bike through there three or four times a month I didn't think of it as a place for a family to stay and camp for vacation.
But you are absolutely right about the great location for getting into the city (by bike, car, bus or rail) or using the W&OD as the route west to the roads of Loudoun, Faquier, or Clark Counties. You could also ride a mountain bike all the way to Great Falls and the Potomac River. Easy enough road routes, too.
Hmmm, now I think that if I didn't live so close I might have to pitch a tent there for a weekend sometime!

First Landing State Park in Va Beach is great. Isolated campsites with plenty of privacy and then you have the bike path on the beach front (it can get VERY crowded on the weekends). You'll find kids of all ages from 3 to 93 riding along the boardwalk bike path. I absolutely love riding in the area (it's the bikinis for me). There are also many bike paths in that general area of the campground. You can ride from the campsites to the boardwalk but it's a ways for the little ones.

Newport News Park/Campground. From there on to Yorktown. Bring your kayak if you have one.
