Recumbent - Chain managment

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
My older Lightfoot Cycles Explorer has no chain support betwen the chainwheel and the rear sprocket. If I ride over rough terrain (dirt bike trails between the house and the paved bike trails) sometimes the chain Bounces off the rear sprocket. Any ideas on the best way to fix this?
Thanks

Can you mount an idler wheel or sprocket on the frame or seat somewhere to add intermediate support and tension?

I could I have the top bar (where the seat is attached) but maybe a problem. but I do have a lower bar also. Would I need an idler on both upper and lower chain run (is not the tension on the upper) and where I can get an idler/s to do this?
Thanks

Yellowbike.com sold them, however, they are not currently doing business while they restructure. Zach Kaplan in Alameda, CA may have them (no website but his e-mail is zakaplan@earthlink.net) or try Ed Deaton at www.foolscrow.com
Also try posting your query at www.bentrideronline.com on the "Message Board" under the "Technical Discussion" forum. In fact, there is a current post there regarding pulleys/idlers.
Good Luck,
Eddie
