I am wondering why Lance has called this Tour his last? Is he conceding that he doesn't have it anymore or are there other reasons (family, other races, etc.)? I hope he kicks ass this year and retires on top.

He's 38, give him a break. If he wants to quit let him quit.

This will be interesting to see.
I'll bet if he wins he'll re-think.

If he wins this is definitely his last tour, and maybe his last race. It'll be interesting to see how he approaches triathlons.

He plans to be in court fighting fraud charges.

Now if only Michael Schumacher would say this is his last season in Formula One...

Yep, and then the age thing... Although LA has no interest in Rat Shack that i know of. He does own a lot of other stuff and have tons of other endorsements that will be enhanced.

It's age man. Top notch athletics requires youth. As the human body gets older it starts to slow down. Things don't work like they used to.
But for his age he did do well in the prologue, so maybe he has a few more seasons left.

Good point. I think he has other things he wants to do. Triathlete magazine had an article about him wanting to try Kona. Who knows. At any rate, he is old as dirt for an athlete, and as last year showed, he is no longer king of the pack, and everyone knows Lance can't stand not being king of the pack.
If he keeps racing he runs the risk of becoming a joke, better off going out on top.
