Found out today I had a flat. The tube is patched up and here are the pictures to the tire. What caused the flat was a tiny sharpo/flat piece of pebble. The tires are 27x5/4" and looking pretty old. Should I just keep the tire and see if I get any more flats or just replace it with some Specialized Armadillo's? Tread on the front looks decent but back is flatter.
I've only been riding the bike for TWO days.

//oops, I meant "puncture" in the title.

Yeah, the sidewall has parts that are cracked but not allt he way through. Ok, new tires it is
Uh ... u can save it by using a tyre boot. Park Tool has a set of them.

I guess it's not really the point of having a single hole in it that'll bother me. I think I'll need a tire that can stand punctures more than this one.

Sidewalls aside, if that happened to a tire of mine I'd just lay a bit of duct tape on the backside of the slit, you'll be good to go for some time.

A tire boot is a get home procedure. Invest in new tires; you will be happier.

A cut like that can happen to new tires too, even kevlar belted ones. Replace the tires because of the dry rot (although it's still rideable it could fail). The hole looks too small to even need a boot, generally a puncture this size is nothing to worry about after the tube is patched or replaced.
