So I have an older Judy on my SS commuter, and need to change out the oil in it. As far as I'm aware, motorcycle fork oil of about the same viscosity is essentially the same thing at a way cheaper price.

I'm out of the primo Rock Shox stuff, so can I just buy the Motorcycle oil from an auto parts store or something? Manufacturer is Torco, but it looks like their Motocross fork oil is the same price anyway... Anybody have experience with substituting one for the other?

BTW, does anybody know the viscosity (cst) of the 10wt Rock Shox oil? I didn't see anything about it in the MSDS.

I was advised to and did use Redrum in mine, back in the day. No problems.

Motorcycle Fork oil is perfectly fine. I would recommend synthetic fork oil if you can find some. I'm an AMSOIL dealer and have used their oil for years.

That's what I'd use, or Redrum. I could be spun.
