Hi everyone, I've just come across this site, and it looks really good, so I've signed up.

I'm from Belfast, UK, and I enjoy cycling for pleasure - I'm a stop-and-look-at-the-daisies cyclist, rather than a racer or long-distance cyclist. My bike is a blue Trek (don't know anything more technical than that), and I've had it for a couple of years.

I love cycling round the Belfast area - there are a good few cycle paths here now, and they're good for a relaxing ride. I've also cycled in France, which I'd love to do again.

Hello, welcome to Bike Forums!

Where in France did you ride? I've been looking into one of the river valley routes myself.

It was in the Loire Valley area... we camped at Blois, and used that as a base to cycle round some of the local castles. It was nice and flat, not too busy or full of tourists, and nice and warm. I would definitely recommend it - the campsites are great, so you could move camp each night if you fancied carrying all your gear.
