I feel this thread should perhaps be in the touring section, but since that section seems to deal mostly with touring bikes, I'm going to post it here, my sincerest apologies to everyone if that's the wrong thing to do :)
I've only recently purchased my first "mountain bike", though, what I have is actually a "trial bike", or so I'm told. Basically, I have this thing: http://www.jjbsports.com/kobe-tribal-jump//shop/fcp-product/12593, but in an adult frame.
I've adjusted the seat to sit me properly, making it comfortable to sit and pedal, as opposed to having to stand, and I've managed to put on some of the basics, lights, speedo etc.
My problems start in that there are no bolts to fit a bottle rack or a pump etc, so I need some alternate method to store what I consider the "essentials". I was thinking maybe just get a daysack, but I don't particularly like riding with a bag on my back.
What I really want is to fit front and rear pannier racks, that way, not only could I carry the few essential bits I want, but I could also take gear with me to go camping for a weekend etc (I'm at uni, no car, so if I want to go camping, I need to do it on my bike).
The problem? Trials bikes aren't really meant to take panniers. In short, anyone got any advice, recommendations etc for me, that don't include "get a new bike"? :D
Thanks.
