Hi all! Just wanted to introduce myself. I am what I have learned from surfing around on the site is called an Athena. Yeah, not proud of it but... My husband and I used to ride our Specialized hybrids daily and loved it, but then I had some plastic surgery and was sidelined for a month, then the winter, then excuses. All the weight I had lost came back and a bunch more tagged along.
I was inspired to return to riding by a friend of ours who is doing the TNT Nation's Triathlon in Sept in honor of my husband who has non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
Unfortunately, I had a little accident a couple of weeks ago and will undergo knee surgery on 7/26. (Yes, it has been THAT kind of year :) ) I am hoping that my doc will agree that getting on the bike is excellent rehab. Until then, I will continue to lurk and look forward to the day when I can begin again...and get rid of that Athena label! :)
