For about the past 24 hours, when I read a thread in "Bicycle Mechanics," it remains bold even though no new posts have arrived. It was working correctly the past 2-3 weeks (that I was reading).

Is this a known problem?

Edit: It doesn't seem to be just that forum. After posting this, the topic was bolded. Normally, if your post is the only new one, the topic would be unbolded. I even went in and read the topic. Still bold.

It's a known problem, and the solutoon is very bandwidth intensive. We have the option of cookie tracking on read threads or a real time database track of threads read. Option 2 is the one we aren't using because of server load. We use the cookie track system, which is less effective, but keeps us up and running without frequent crashes and inordinate slowdowns.

Why did the cookie option stop working? Should I delete my cookie?

EDIT: I logged out and in. Unread/read topic bolding began working.
