Introductions - Hey - hi to all from an Auckland NZ newbie

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi, I am in Auckland, and am a new cycling addict. Until recently I rode a Ducati, but my personal motor was starting to get as big as the Ducati's, so off it went and in came a cycle to ride to work on. After a year of commuting, and competing in my first major event, (100km flyer - around 5,000 entrants) I have just made my first upgrade from the older bike I bought second hand. I now have a cannondale CAAD5 R600, and the first thing I did to it was to fully kit it with Ultegra. I am now a total bike nut, and have signed up for a 160km ride at the end of November, this one has a heap of big hills so I have not much time left to tune my motor (drop excess wieght and harden up!!). I used to wonder when I saw cyclists out in the middle of nowhere, whether they were nuts - now I know they are. Ride on
Hmmmmm... I believe this makes 4 kiwis on the forums... and they'll always trying to get the other NZ-ers to identify themselves online. What's with that? :D
Welcome to the forums! Man, with those hills out there, I'm sure it'll be a good, challenging ride for you in November!

Kiwi's a strange bunch, unlimited nice roads over here though, but same crappy & inconsiderate drivers you get all over the world. Heading into riding weather - spring, so things are looking up.
By the way - this is a great forum. I look forward to some great reading.

Ha funny you should say - my wife will be there, she is a sports co-ordinater at St Cuths, so she will be cheering them on while I play golf in Wairakei. (I should be training for the round Taupo!)
