my bottom bracket has a slight lateral wobble if you push the pedals from the side, it's causing some nasty clicking sounds when I'm riding. What's the process to tighten it? Take off the pedals and gears and tighten the inner nuts? I only have a basic home tool-kit

What kind of BB? If cup and cone, it may just need to be adjusted. If cartridge, it's probably toast.

The "process" is explained on the Park Tool site and Sheldon Brown's as well as several other places, along with the proper terminology, which is very helpful when you are looking for assistance. There is no way to tell over the Internet if you need a BB adjustment (not "tightening") overhaul or something else. A basic home tool kit is probably not enough - tools could cost you much more than having it done, not to mention your time.
