Mountain Biking - Well it's official

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am so addicted to biking that going without a bike for 1-2 days = withdrawl. Seriously considering either a backup bike or rebuilding the Specialized Rockhopper that has a broken shock and fork. :twitchy::love:

What happened to your bike? I had the same deal a few months ago when my friend first got me into mountain biking. The withdrawals faded as the weather got hot & all job prospects fell through, leaving me with 95 degree 90% humidity weather on a daily basis & no money to drive to the nearest trails. Every time I manage to get out there, I don't want to leave & the withdrawals start all over as soon as I do.

Nothing really, the derailleur got snagged on a rock and snapped after trying to bend it back. Could be worse!
You'll reach a point where your body starts hurtin' and the day off will be nice.
I started out today and quickly realized the rear axle was loose providing side to side movement of the wheel. I don't have a cassette tool to get the cassette off and tighten the locknuts - so back to the car and into the shop (16 miles) I went. By the time they get it tightened I don't have time to head back up to the hills and ride before needing to be home because the wife has a bunch of people coming over tonight and I have kid duty.
To top it off, I'm out of town the next three days - the withdrawals have definitely started.

Hahahahaha. There's good trails in the "area" but by the area I mean within 1 hour any direction.
It's worth it, though. I enjoy listening to music to get me amped up on the way there, and then blaring Pink Floyd on the way home. It's such a way to get in the mood/relax after a good ride.

true!
My buddies find it easy to get me out to do things on rainy days, but hard on nice sunny days. They don't know where I go on the nice days ;).
