Dear All
I am doing some research on pro cycling kits and would be interested to hear you thoughts on the Team Sky kit. It would be good to know:
- overall thoughts
- nice features
- bad features
- possible improvements.
Many thanks indeed - any help very much appreciated.

i think they used too much black, so if it is hot and sunny it will absorb more heat than lighter colour. They should have gone more blue and less black which would make them stand out a bit more and absorb less heat..

I think it's my personal favorite in the Tour Peloton this year. I think it's easy to pick out of the crowd, and I really like the overall color combo, especially the turquoise blue stripe. The back is mostly white, where the sun hits, so it may not be as hot as highroller thinks.
I also like the rider names along the side.

I'm surprised the color "Sky Blue" is not incorporated more heavily. They could do this and easily still distinguish themselves from the other kits that have sunstantial amounts of blue in them (Astana, Bbox, FDJ, etc).

this is good
I love the kits. I want a jersey not because I like the team (I tend to cheer for Garmin and Saxo more), but the kit is gorgeous. I was just perusing their kits on PBK the other day. The white stripes really tie it all together.
They look great but I can't imagine why they would wear black. They spend thousands on equipment to make them a few seconds faster. But yet they ride in 100 degree weather and complain about how hot it is. It has to be a disadvantage.

Definitely the best looking kit on the Tour, imo. And I agree that the white panel on the back probably mitigates the heat absorption. Anyway, everyone knows that cycling shorts have to be black...

Many thanks for the responses - all much appreciated.
The white panel was designed for minimal heat absorption although the black material on the rest of the jersey is a new modern fabric that reflects the heat more that conventional fabrics. The shorts are black as the pro kit is made using PowerLycra that gives greater muscle tension. They are also black as riders generally don't like to ride in white for a number of practical reasons. The Blue Line on the back is a ket branding device that links backs to Dave Brailsford's philosophy of 'marginal gains'.
Thanks again
