Hey everybody I am a Newbie to the board this is only my 3rd post. Well today I finally did it. I have been wanting to buy a bike for about a year now. Its just hard trying to get yourself to spend $500 or more to buy a bike and have never done any road cycling before. So the other day I brought my Bmx bikes to a local shop to be made into a freestyle bike and saw a sweet used cycling bike. After taking the whole weekend to think about it. I went back to the shop today and bought the bike. Its a Panasonic white with blue. Just had all the services done on it. I ended up buying the bike for a $130 :D I am so excited thought I would share!!!! Hopefully I get some pics of it soon.... I know its alittle older because the shifting is in the middle of the headset, but a great starter I think...

Good for you.
I had a Panasonic, it was a great Japanese bike.
It is a great starter. I went for my first Metric Century last weekend. Every one had a more expensive bike than I did.
I was very tired at the end, but my bike did as well as any.
It has never gotten tired yet.

Good job joes97- I can see the excitement in your post! It is almost as good a feeling as buying a new car isn't it? Well, get going on the thing and start puttin' on the miles.(or km's if from the Kiwi thread)

i think you made the best choice by buying a used bike to start with, now you'll get on the road and start to find out what you really like when time comes to get a new bike, who knows maybe your panasonic will be a great bike for you.
good luck and enjoy your new rig! don't forget to post some pics later.
