Mountain Biking - Why do you Kayak?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I like to be well balanced. Kill sperm on a bike, kill brain cells every time I roll over & smack my head on a rock.
I enjoy the feeling of freedom, of being one with nature and the adrenaline rush that I get from acting smugly superior to the people plying the waves in powered watercraft.

Ive always come across smug boaters who try to throw waves in the direction of kayakers. "****ing kayakers" they'd say. Those kids were a bunch of spoiled ******s from day 1 to begin with though, not all boaters are like that. =D

Hmmmmm, I don't! I rather drink beer and watch someone kayak.
I live in Charleston SC (LOOOOWWWWWcountry) during the summer, great coast no mtb trails! And I was raised on the water so its nice

Seems to be a lot of hostility towards kayakers. Did someone get bullied by grade-school boaters as a kid?:p
^^?? I see much facetiousness but no hostility.
BTW, if I kayaked (that's kayaqued for santiago's sake), I would just be doing it for the chicks and the beer.

I canoe for the peace and quiet, kinda like tooling around on a MTB.
Kayaking looses points from your mancard. You have to tie a skirt around you to do it right. I ain't wearing no stinking skirt.

Not if you have a sit on top!

That's quite a vocabulary! Had to look up the meaning of "facetiousness". It was understood that no one was trying to be offensive though. I tried to convey my own 'facetiousness' with the :p face.

HA! Never really thought of that before. I'm all for whitewater canoeing, but canoes are so much more expensive, & so much harder to roll (though easier to keep upright). Not to mention you need huge float bags for whitewater canoeing. Stillwater anything bores the crap out of me, unless I'm fishing & drinking. But I like to have a source of land & water adrenaline rushes.
