Evening all :) First time I've ever introduced myself on a forum, but here goes...

I am what you might describe as an amateur cyclist. I've been cycling since I was about five, and have always used a bike as my main means of transport. It (and Britain's rail network) have saved me having to learn to drive. I don't want to learn to drive. I'd miss the exercise. I can fix a puncture, put a bike together so it works and adjust the saddle so it's the right height, but that's about it as far as maintenance goes...

So here I am, looking for like-minded people. I was particularly taken with the Car Free subforum - think the concept is a great idea - but really I'm into all aspects of cycling.

Hi!

Welcome to Bike Forums! There's also the Bike Mechanic section. It's fun to go in there, you learn soooo much!

As it just so happens, I ride past the sun (http://www.cyclorama.net/viewArticle.php?id=78) every day, and then as far as mars before turning off ;) I'll try and take some pictures of my own though and post them here!

Will check out the mechanics section too, Lord knows I need it!

Salud?? Love the Monty Python quote :P

Hey...we ALL need to check the mechanics section every once in a while. Just remember, not all of them are actual mechanics. The person in post number 4 is indeed a real mechanic though. Perhaps you can ask him anything that you can't find answers to.
