(I'm not sure what forum this belongs in. Please correct me if there's a better place for it.)

I bought what looks like a really great bike rack for $20, located a scanned version of the manual online, and did a dry-fit on the back of my Saturn SL1.

Now, most newer racks I've seen have 3 sets of straps: top of trunk, bottom of trunk, and sides.

It appears this one doesn't have side straps, and I'm wondering if that's "okay".

Rhode Gear sold out to ?? several years ago. When the rack was manufactured most companies used top and bottom straps only. It seemed to work ok back then.

Ron, thanks! It's kinda what I figured, but wasn't sure. (Rhode Gear was originally bought by Bell, then sold to Yakima...took all day to figure that out)
I've never used a rack on my car, and I'm rightfully a little nervous about putting my favorite mode of transportation on the back of my car.
