Recumbent - Bike E different sizes?

Does anyone know if BikeE come in different sizes. Thanks Brian

I have a BikeE and as I recall, when I got mine, there was a long frame version available for taller riders.

I think so, I am 5'6" and have quite a bit of adjustment left

Not sure if you have located any Bike E's for sale. As you probably know, the company went belly up in 2002. A year ago, there was a person in my town that wanted to sell an 2000 AT (rear suspension) and I would be happy to see if it is still for sale. It was ridden very little & was in excellent condition with a lot of accessories thrown in. I'm 6'2" and my "E" is a regular size frame so you should be good to go.

There is a bike shop in Chico, CA that has one for sale. It is a full suspension model and appears to be in very good shape. However, as I recall, he wants about $1,200 for it.

Mine is an older, non suspension model. The only problem I am having is the rear shifter is very hard to turn and the cloth is torn through at the top of the seat where the post goes through. I purchased it new at some time in the 90s'.

Twelve hundred bucks for a bike that went out of production years ago when the company went bankrupt? No way!!! Keep looking for a lighter, more efficient used bike. I bought a used Bike E AT for $700 in 2001 when the company was still in business and it was a very poor choice. Although it is probably the easiest recumbent to hop on and ride away on and is almost infinitely adjustable for different Xseams, its weight and inefficiency led me to quickly move on to a used 1997 Linear which cost me $500. I got thousands of miles on the Linear while it was only hundreds on the BikeE. I kept the BikeE as a loaner but the SRAM rear hub broke while someone was testing it out a couple years later. I've heard there was a batch with this hub that had the same problem. It cost so much to replace the hub that I just junked the bike.

That is what I thought when I saw it too. While I still have, and use, my bikeE, I expect that once I finish Grad school (assuming I get a job) it will be replaced.

There is one near me in Reno, NV that's going for $375 and it
sounded in pretty good shape. I haven't looked at it though.

I hope that isn't a recumbent shop offering the bike for that much.

Not sure what your situation is, but a BikeE was the first recumbent
I ever sat on and I gave it a decent test ride, but I didn't feel it was
worth the $500 the guy was asking, and that's not an unreasonable
price. I waited and came across an EZ-1 which is a comparable level
bike, but it's a more pleasant handling bike. I do like the look of the
BikeE over the EZ, but I'm not unhappy with my choice.

I have found BikeE for around $300 used. I have decided to find another type of recumbent. Thanks for all your info. Brian
