Hey, currently i use my bicycle to commute everywhere and anywhere partly because of a back injury, meaning its painful to drive and partly because i just dont want to join the ranks of P platers.
Loving cycling so far and after 7 moths i still don't see why people hate regular bicycle commuters. ie yelling obscenities and throwing objects eg coins.

Welcome Caesar to Bike Forums.
Commuting is fun and also a challenge as you well know.
What bike do you ride for your commute?

I ride a Giant Transend 2. Going to get a front pannier rack on it and am seriously considering a vintage dynamo powered light. How about you?

I have a Cannondale T-1.
I put on a front rack and panniers.
Rode it on a 600 mile camping tour.
Loved the weight on the front. The bike was very stable.

Sorry to hear to you have people harassing you, I feel lucky I rarely get this while commuting.

Googling "P Platers" left me wondering what you mean by that. Please explain for a Yank. Cheers!

Hi Caesar and welcome to Bike Forums!

Yes, it's hard when others are so mean to cyclist. The best thing is to ignore them. Try to memorize the license plate if they threaten you or endanger you. Not worth getting into a hassle when all you are trying to do is have a good time riding.

In oz there are 4 stages of licensing. The first are L platers who have to drive under supervision, then there are the two p plates which have no supervision and are allowed to drive faster and finally the full licence.

There are four stages of licensing. One is the full license, the first is L plates (driving under supervision) and then the p plates which have no supervision. Most are good but there are the morons who think they're better than cyclists as "we cant do anything". Im surpirsed no-ones pointed out after they yell or throw they are driving right in my line of sight for the next 5 seconds at least...

and blue wind you're right, my personal best is number plate license type, make and model of the car. and on a final note a brave heart misquote...
You can take my life but ye can never take ma freedom, or ma bike!
